Set Up

First-Time Users
Create your 1Password Vault
1Password Vault is used to hold all your information in a secure manner.
Launching 1Password
- Click on Launchpad to bring up all your installed applications
- Click on 1Password to launch the application.
- Once the application launches, select 'I'm new to 1Password' option
Create New Vault
Your encrypted data will be stored in your new vault.
- Before 1Password can encrypt your data, you will need to create a master password.

Existing Users
If you have 1Password data on your computer, 1Password can detect it.
- Enter your 'Master' password to begin using 1Password. If 1Password is unable to detect itself on your computer, follow the instructions that follow.
- Select 'I've used 1Password before'.
- Choose where your 1Password is located.In this example, I have chosen Dropbox. Next click the 'choose folder...' button to select your Dropbox folder.
- With the Dropbox folder selected, choose 1Password.agilekeychain. Click 'Open' to confirm selection.
- Click 'Continue'.
- At this point, 1Password should prompt you for your 'Master' password.Enter your password to use 1Password.
- At 1Password's first use, you will be presented with several configuration options screens.Select the option that works best for you.
Leave 1Password running to register it with license key.
Registering 1Password for Mac
- Start by launching 1Password ( Finder > Applications > 1Password ), if necessary.
- From the 1Password menu, click on 1Password 5 and select License...
- You should see the following 'Trial Mode' message, if 1 Password is not registered. Click the 'Add License...' button.
- Locate the license file that you downloaded from software.lbl.gov.
- Select and click the 'Open' button.
- One last message showing 1Password is registered. Close the window.
